The Wellspring provides referrals into housing; they have supported over 1500 rough sleepers off the streets and into accommodation. They actively engage with people who are at risk of becoming homeless therefore preventing homelessness from happening. The Wellspring provides educational courses, Computer courses, art classes, other activities such as football, walking groups and gardening courses.
ICA have partnered with The Wellspring to assist with the charity and it's service users. ICA will be holding a 2 hour session with 8-10 service users covering areas such as Career's, Interview Prep and a CV Workshop.
Members of the ICA team will also be volunteering in the kitchen to help with the increasing number of visitors during the winter months.
ICA have been assisting with the collection of items for The Rucksack Project. Here's how you can help:
ICA and the Wellspring are reaching out to the local community to get involved and assist where possible with the collection of the items required to create a rucksack. We have listed below the types of items we require for our collection. ICA have been acting as a drop-off location for the rucksacks before handing them over to the Wellspring. Which took place on the 2nd December.
Rowlinson's and Red Rose Packaging helped out massively by providing rucksacks for us to drop off at the Wellspring, ICA then visited Decathlon and Tesco and purchased the items required to make more rucksacks. In total ICA donated over 50 rucksacks to the Wellspring who were very grateful of this gesture.
